I stopped by the “Long Shots” event presented by B. Well Foundation at Evelyn K. Davis Park. The foundation works with youth to build character through mentorship and education. Saturday was a beautiful day and the basketball courts were full of our youth playing ball. Thank you to the B. Well Foundation and other sponsors who care so much for our youth.

Candy Drop at Union Park

October 21, 2023

There is so much to do in our city. Saturday was a busy day, and it included a stop at Union Park for the annual “Candy drop” sponsored by Des Moines Parks and Recreation with candy being dropped by the Des Moines Firefighters in their ladder truck. It looked like everyone was having a great time. The trees are beautiful this time of year.

Tai Dam Festival

September 4, 2023

I always look forward to attending the Tai Dam Festival held over the Labor Day holiday weekend. This years festival was very special because my neighbor and her sister made my Tai Dam dress to wear. It is beautiful and I am so grateful for such wonderful neighbors/Friends. Special thanks also to Tom Baccam for always making me feel welcome. I even got to dance with the group.
